How long does instant coffee last?
Unopened instant coffee keeps for 2 years or more, and sealed cans much longer; once opened, it tastes best within 2–3 months if kept dry.

Storage tips
- Caffeine withdrawal headaches are real; a small stash is worth it if you drink coffee daily.
Signs it has gone bad
- A rancid smell, often described as crayons, putty or old paint (oils, nuts, nut butters, whole-milk powder)
- Mold on the surface or under the lid
- Off colors or a sour smell
- Hard clumps in sugar or salt are only moisture and are harmless; break them up
